Made A Decision

Step Three of CODA says, "Made a decision to turn our will and lives over to the care of God as we understood God."

Made A Decision

I made a decision
no longer would I lie for you
I made a choice
to let you assume responsibility
for actions taken
that weren't mine

I made a decision
to turn my will and my life over
I made a choice
to follow my God
I surrended to His will
to live a life destined for me.

this decision didn't mean
that I didn't love you
you made a choice
to leave me
someday it will become clear
it was done out of love

love for my God
love for myself
and yes, love for you
growth couldn't happen
with me in control
I didn't abandon you

I can look and wonder "what if"
but dwelling on the past
doesn't help either of us
our journey took different paths
we were both given a gift
if we choose to accept it...
happiness and peace

    Dave,
This is a powerful testament to the good in life.
Too often,we cling to things, sometimes people too, that have long since fulfilled their purpose(s) in our lives.
This poem affirms the positive aspects of living, and it is wonderful!

Good does supply all our needs. This write says you are not needing what that person had, and want to go on your own way to be happier. You depend on God as it should be and forward in truth is the way it was meant to be. Blessings to you both though, and happiness and peace to you, Dave.

Interesting write and one to ponder seriously as we look at the paths we do choose in relationship to our souls, our Gods and the people we love.
