I'm Secure Enough

Power can breed insecurity. When combined with an endless search for knowledge - that power can become a nightmare. For the 40 hour a week worker - it can be the power that destroys. The power of a workaholic.

I’m secure enough to not need to know everything
I’m secure enough to not always speak… but instead listen
I’m secure enough to praise others who know more then me
I’m secure enough that I don’t need to compete
I’m secure enough to know I’m OK

I’m secure enough that I don’t need to stab you in the back
I’m secure enough to know I’m doing a good job
I’m secure enough to admit when I’m wrong
I’m secure enough that I don’t need to point fingers
I’m secure enough to know I’m OK

I’m secure enough that I don’t need to possess others
I’m secure enough that I don’t need to be in control
I’m secure enough to follow as well as lead
I’m secure enough that I see the value of others
I’m secure enough to know I’m OK

I’m secure enough to admit my own insecurities
I’m secure enough to cry
I’m secure enough to say “I love you”
I’m secure enough to say I need your help
I’m secure enough to know I’m OK

Now… dear friend… how secure are you
